1. Data controller

The party responsible for processing your data is "Smart Lab Tec" — a sole proprietorship registered under Commercial Register No. 85764 and Tax Registration No. 672-917-882, at 119A El Sharika El Kuwaitiya, New Maadi, Cairo, Egypt. For any privacy enquiry, contact us at support@smartlabtec.com.

2. Data we collect

• Data you provide: name, WhatsApp or phone number, email address, import region, product category, preferred session date, and any notes you write in the booking form or send us.
• Transaction data: details of services booked, amounts paid, and proof of payment. We do not store your card details — these are handled directly by the payment provider.
• Limited technical data: IP address and server logs generated automatically when you visit the site, for operational and security purposes.

3. How we collect it

We collect data when you complete the booking form on the website (which opens a WhatsApp message containing your details), when you contact us by WhatsApp, email, or phone, or in the course of delivering a service you have engaged us for.

4. Why we use your data

• To respond to your enquiry and confirm your consultation slot.
• To deliver the contracted service: sourcing, shipping, customs clearance, and documentation.
• To issue invoices, collect payment, and maintain accounting records.
• To meet our legal, customs, and tax obligations in Egypt.
• To improve our services and communicate with you about your active order.

The legal basis for processing is the performance of our contract with you, your consent, or a legal obligation to which we are subject.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only as far as necessary with:

• Suppliers and factories in China and Europe, to request quotations and samples.
• Freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers, to carry out shipping and clearance.
• Egyptian government bodies such as the Customs Authority and the Nafeza platform, as required by law.
• Payment providers and banks, to collect payments.
• WhatsApp (Meta), as the communication channel you choose to use with us; messages sent through it are also subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy.

6. Transfers outside Egypt

Given the nature of our business, some of your data (such as your name, contact details, and shipment details) may be transferred to suppliers or freight companies outside Egypt. We limit this to the minimum necessary to deliver the service.

7. Retention

Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are kept for up to 12 months. Client records, transactions, and customs documents are retained for the period required by Egyptian accounting and tax law — at least 5 years — after which they are deleted or anonymised.

8. Data security

The website runs entirely over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and we apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet can be guaranteed 100% secure.

9. Your rights

Under Law No. 151 of 2020, you have the right to:

• Know what personal data we hold about you and access it.
• Have your data corrected, amended, or updated.
• Request erasure of your data, to the extent this does not conflict with our legal record-keeping obligations.
• Withdraw your consent to processing, or object to it.

10. Cookies and third-party services

Our website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Your browser's local storage is used only to remember your language preference. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your IP address reaches Google's servers when they load.

11. Children's privacy

Our services are aimed at commercial dealings and are not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect their data.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the last-updated date appears at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it periodically.
